I heard of the idea of creating a vision board several years ago on the Oprah Winfrey show. A Vision Board is an idea created to help keep a person focused.
“What do you want in your life? What images represent your dreams? What words inspire you to move forward? If you get clear about your goals, your hopes and your vision for your life then make the connection to turn your dreams into reality every day.” – Oprah.com
I thought this was a great idea, but cutting out pictures from a magazine, inspiration words, and goals then tacking them to a cork board – who has that kind of time?! Fast forward a few years to December 2009 when Pinterest made its appearance.
Have you ever wondered, ‘what’s the hype all about’? Believe me; I was just skeptical… until I tried it! It’s a vision board! The same idea that I once saw on Oprah however it has come to life – Virtually! The most fantastic part about Pinterest, is that I can create and manage my vision board as well share with others. It is broken down into categories so one may envision their dream vacation, dream wardrobe or dream wedding. This great social experiment helps “connect everyone in the world through the ‘things’ they find interesting.”
The benefit I have seen from using Pinterest as an apartment community is my new found ability to share apartment living ideas. Some people are simplifying their lives by making the move from owning a home to renting at an apartment community. With this simplifying comes the difficult part of what to bring to the new apartment home. I have searched, shared, and repined some great storage ideas. There are also great decorating, floral and event ideas that I look forward to pinning!
Please follow us on Pinterest: McBee Station
There are sure to be some great ideas to make your new apartment home, feel like home.
